The research of the MTG is quite close to the core of the Sound and Music Computing interdisciplinarity, being especially active on topics such as audio signal processing, music information retrieval, musical interfaces, and computational musicology. The MTG is organized into four labs, each one led by a faculty member. Most of the research is carried out within projects supported by a variety of funding sources. The research results into publications and software & datasets, while also emphasizing technology transfer and outreach initiatives.
