PhD Positions
PhD position part of Doctoral Network funded by Horizon Europe (HORIZON) Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
Research topic: Effects of interactive EEG based sonification and music generation, on sleep induction and sleep quality
Requirements: M.Sc in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Engineering, Psychology, or Computer Science; experience in electronic music production; experience in computer programming (ideally Python); experience in statistics and data processing; proof of English proficiency (e.g. TOEFL or similar test, not for native speakers). Desirable, but not required, are: experience with human-subject experimentation, machine learning, and audio programming (e.g. Pd, Max/MSP). Passionate about research and sharing the MTG’s values.

Four PhD positions funded by the MTG
Research topics:
- Computational analysis of sound events.
- Music classification and music representation learning.
- Music performance analysis.
- Computational musicology.
Requirements: Completed, or soon to be completed, master studies in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or Music/Audio Technology; Research experience in the Phd topic being applied for; Experience in machine learning and audio signal processing; Solid background programming in Python and C/C++. Web development skills are highly desirable; Musical training (any of performance, production, composition or theory); Fluency in English (written and spoken); Ability of working in interdisciplinary teams and multicultural environments; Passionate about research and sharing the MTG’s values.

PostDoc Positions
Senior researcher
The candidate must have a PhD in computer science or a closely related field and have a strong background in audio signal processing and machine learning applied to sound and music applications.
The candidate must demonstrate:

A solid research track record and experience in research supervision and teaching.

Ability to attract external funding and the potential to secure partnerships with the private sector. Experience in leading research projects with social and economic impact.

Experience in the dissemination and transfer of knowledge to other institutions, companies and the public sector.

Juan de la Cierva - Formación (JCI-F 2022)
2 years contract for young doctors to complete their postdoctoral research in a different university or research center from where they completed their predoctoral training. Candidates must meet the requirement to have obtained the PhD between January 1, 2020 and December 31, 2022.
