New online courses on flamenco, indian and chinese musical traditions

Two new online courses have been released in the last term in 2018

Cante Flamenco Tech

Cante Flamenco Tech is a course aimed to teach cante flamenco integrating current sound analysis and music technologies to explain some of the most characteristic aspects of cante flamenco. This course is only in Spanish (English subtitles in the video lectures are available).

India and China through their music

"India and China through their music" is a course that offers an approach to the culture and society of India and China through the understanding, appreciation and engaged listening of two of their most representative musical genres, respectively khayāl and jingju.

This course is part of the project Musical Bridges, that aims to develop interactive tools for bringing closer to a broad audience some non-western music cultures (such as Hindustani, Carnatic, Arab-Andalusian, Turkish makam, and jingju). It is divided in eight sessions that will take place from February to March 2019, and is organized in collaboration with Casa Asia and Institut Confuci.

The course will be taught in Spanish only.
