The Molecular Physiology lab is interested in recruiting highly motivated scientists for the different projects running in the laboratory. In this sense, besides the open positions we have from specific fundings that we advertise on this website, we encourage people with competitive curriculum to contact us by sending a motivation letter and a CV in order to apply for the different official calls of PhD and postdoc fellowships.

Besides, we are a laboratory committed to the training of future scientists. Therefore we have open positions for summer students every year to do internships. Any student interested should send an application to our email account.

• Postdoctoral position.  We offer a Postdoctoral Position in the Laboratory of Molecular Physiology at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) in the field of Ion channels, Cell signalling and/or Mechanotransduction. Position implies 180h annual teaching. Salary: 40.056,66€ per year. Duration 3 years + 3 optional years. 2024

• Pre-doctoral fellowship position.  We offer a Predoctoral Position (PhD Position) in the Laboratory of Molecular Physiology at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). The specific project to be developed is: “Mechanosensitive ion channels in the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases”.  If you are fascinated by the aging and nervous system and its vulnerability to neurodegenerative diseases join our dynamic research team! We are now open to receive letters of interest plus C.V. as well as two recommendation letters. The selected candidate will entry to the 2024 FPI fellowship call associated to our project to start at January 2025. Please send your letters to [email protected] until 30 September 2024.

• FPU candidates. The Laboratory of Molecular Physiology is looking for two candidates to apply for two pre-doctoral contracts in the call for applications for the "Formación de Profesorado Universitario" (FPU) 2023 (official deadline for the submission of applications: 15/02/2024), in order to carry out the PhD thesis at the Department of Medicine and Life Sciences of the University Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). The two projects in wich these doctoral thesis would be framed will be related to HEMIPLEGIC MIGRAINE (project AEI/PID2022-136546OB-I00) and ZINC TOXICITY (project AEI/ PID2022-136511OB-I00). The interested candidates must send their CV and academic profile to the address [email protected] (project AEI/PID2022-136546OB-I00) or [email protected] (project AEI/ PID2022-136511OB-I00) before 4th February 2024.

• PhD position.  Project: Zinc signalling modulates immune function and excitability. The research project is focused on dissecting the dysregulation of zinc fluxes through ion channels and transporters in pathological processes.  Applicants should submit an application containing: motivation letter, CV and contact details for two referees to [email protected]. • Post Doctoral position to work in the PROJECT “HYPOGLYCOSYLATION OF CaV2.1 AND PIEZO CHANNELS: NEW PATHOLOGICAL MECHANISMS AND THERAPEUTIC TARGETS FOR NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS IN PHOSPHOMANNOMUTASE 2 DEFICIENCY”. The interested candidates must send their CV and three reference letters to the address: [email protected], showing the reference POSTDOCTORAL MOLECULAR PHYSIOLOGY. • Post Doctoral position in the field of transport across cell membranes. The preferred candidates need to broadly complement at least one of the existing fields of research priority within the laboratory, which include: cellular mechano/osmosensing, zinc transport and cellular aging. Position available from September 2021.
