Knowledge Transfer and Collaboration in the INTERMAPS Project: Expanding Impact Across Diverse Sectors
The INTERMAPS project is committed to knowledge transfer as a core dimension of its research mission. Since 2022, the project has carried out over 50 activities, including training sessions, lectures, conferences, talks, seminars, webinars, and interviews, reaching more than 1,200 people across a wide range of sectors and contexts.
These activities engage a diverse range of partners: universities and research centres, public bodies and governmental departments, NGOs, health services, professional associations, and activist groups. Geographically, the project's knowledge transfer efforts extend across Spain, with a strong presence in Catalonia, as well as internationally, with activities carried out in Chile, Colombia, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Mexico, and the United States, both in person and online.
Audiences include doctoral researchers, students, policymakers, municipal technicians, social and health workers, gender equality professionals, and civil society activists. A central element of this work is the dissemination and hands-on training in Relief Maps+, the project's visual and digital methodology for collecting, analysing, and representing intersectional inequalities, ensuring that INTERMAPS research translates into practical capacity and meaningful impact beyond academia.
