Introduction
Pompeu Fabra University is an university based in three different campus distributed around the city of Barcelona. You can see the ubication in the map.
If you are a student with special education needs check the procedure that we follow in our office.
Below there is a collection of the most frequently asked questions about our service. Do not hesitate to get in touch with us for more information.
Student support and Adjustments
1. Can you provide me a special needs tutor? Yes, by student request.
2. Can you provide me a notes taker? Yes, by student request we will try to find you a accompanying student.
3. Can you provide me some exams adjustments? Yes, we will offer the necessary adjustments. Overall, our adjustments focus on: extra time, computer use and oral exams. We try to keep in mind the adjustments report from your original center. In the case of foreign students, in order to attend the requested adaptations, it is essential that the student send the letter of adaptations from their home university the a medical report. We need also the contact of the person in charge of the adaptations in their home university.
4. Can you provide documents written in Braille? It is not provided directly. It is provided through ONCE if the student is enroled.
5. Can you provide enlarged copies? Yes. Usually we enlarge the measure of the font of the document for better convenience.
6. Can you provide a distraction reduced environment for the exams? We will help you to find the most appropriate place for you inside the exam room. We can not guarantee an alternative space.
7. Is it possible to record audio at classes? Yes, but only with the teacher consent.
8. Is the bucle magnètic / d'inducció provided? Only in big spaces as the auditorium. In the classrooms we use the FM system.
9. Can you provide us with software and other adjusted academic materials? The university can provide a pc with software (Jaws, ZoomText) during the exams.
10. Is there a possibility to have all the materials before the class starts? Yes, usually you can find them online at the Aula Global. If that’s not the case, students can request them and receive them earlier.
Hosting
1. Is there any adapted student housing? The university does not have it’s own student housing. You should take a look at the students housing we have partnered with:

2. Is day and night assistance available in the student housing? You might have to ask the student housing directly: https://www.upf.edu/web/barcelona#residencies.
University Life
1. Are the university buildings easy to access? The campus buildings have a direct entrance from the street and is wheelchair accessible. Furthermore the elevators are equiped with Braille system and the numbers are in relief.
2. Are the transportation methods around campus accessible for the students with disabilities? The bus and tramway lines are 100% accessible, the underground is not.
3. Are the university libraries accessible? 100% accessible.
4. Are all the WC accessible? Yes.
5. Is there a parking space available for disabled students? Yes, but it requires accreditation: https://goo.gl/ycspgw
6. Is there an emergency procedure? Yes, there are rescue points for students with reduced mobility around Ciutadella Campus, Mar Campus and Poblenou Campus. Please, check: https://www.upf.edu/intranet/otprl/evacuacio
7. Is there a hospital or a health center around the institution? We do not have a health center in the campus. Hospital del Mar is the nearest health center: 100 m from Mar Campus, 2,5km from Poblenou Campus and 800 m from Ciutadella Campus. We also have a first aid protocol and personnel to warn emergency services.

9. Is there any infirmary or medical service at the campus? No.
We recommend foreign students with pharmacological treatment to take enough medication for their stay and a medical report (in English), with the medical guidelines.
10. Is there a physiotherapist at the campus? No.

1. Where can I find you and which are the service hours? From Monday to Friday, from 9.30 a.m. to 2.00 p.m., and Tuesday from 4.00 to 5.30 p.m. Our office is the 40.S23 in Roger de Llúria at Ciutadella Campus: https://www.upf.edu/web/campus/roger-de-lluria.
Intensive schedule during summer: from mid-June to mid-September, Monday to Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
