Smart animations for SAUCE Project

GTI-UPF is working on smart assets, more specifically in smart animations as it is taking part in SAUCE project.

As the current way to generate new animations requires really big amount of time, GTI-UPF is developing an interface and a pipeline to create new, and more complex animations from some basic ones. This can be achieved by tweaking an animation, merging several animations, changing the energy, etc.

Filmakademie will hold a meeting on October 18th in Ludwigsburg, Germany, to put in common all the work done by all the partners and check that the way followed by all the participants is the correct one. Furthermore the integration between those partners will be an important topic of the meeting for the department.

The idea is to give facilities to the artists to generate new content without having to program or use complex and unintelligible tools. Moreover, as GTI-UPF is developing the project on the web, it would easy the sharing of new content. GTI has implemented an standalone version of a web based Behaviour Tree editor, which drives virtual agents, making them to behave depending on local (agent) and global (environmental) data. This standalone version has an intuitive and easy-to-use interface, as one of the strengths of GTI, and one of the goals of our part of the SAUCE project.
