First EMAI Graduation Ceremony!

Nineteen talented students have successfully completed their Master’s degree: Cristian Bassotto, Ahmet Çalış, Antonio Carpes Martinez, Roberta Chissich, Giuseppe Cianci, Aleksandar Dimitrievikj, Dariana Dorin, Honor Duthie, Joaquín Figueira, Adrian Gheorghiu, Manfred Gonzalez-Hernandez, Nikolay Kormushev, Camile Lendering, Leonida Lumburovska, Pedro Moreira, Nazanin Niayesh, Andreas Pattichis, Bernardo Ribeiro and Neus Vegas Morales.
During the ceremony, the Universitat Pompeu Fabra - Barcelona rector, Professor Laia de Nadal, congratulated the graduates, reflecting on their achievements and the exciting opportunities ahead.
In addition, Prof. Vicenç Gómez Cerdà, EMAI Coordinator, Prof. Zoran Bosnić, Local Coordinator at University of Ljubljana, Prof. Massimo Mecella, Local Coordinator at Sapienza Università di Roma, and Dr Lucia Cavallaro, professor at Radboud University, highlighted how the graduates’ hard work and dedication have prepared them to become the next generation of experts in AI.
The keynote speech delivered by Dr Francesco Fabbri offered an inspirational moment for this pioneering cohort, encouraging them to reflect on their journey, celebrate their accomplishments, and continue their academic or professional path by embracing opportunities and difficulties. Finally, Leonida Lumburovska, on behalf of her classmates, shared heartfelt reflections on their experiences, challenges, and growth throughout the programme and how they became a cohesive and supportive group.
To the Class of 2023-2025 graduates: Over the past two years, you have grown academically, professionally, and personally! Thank you for bringing new perspectives, curiosity, and dedication, and for helping build a vibrant global EMAI community along the way.
