Najeh Halawani, a Lebanese student from the second EMAI Cohort, participated in HALON2025 (Hack Al het Onderwijs in Nederland) at the end of October. This is a national hacking competition focused on improving the security of educational systems, hosted at Radboud University in the Netherlands.

The event brought together around 80 talented ethical hackers, all working to make university platforms safer.

Najeh identified and submitted 13 valid security issues across various university websites — and these findings are already being addressed. Even more exciting: He was awarded Second Place Overall, plus the Most Advanced Verified Vulnerability Award.

Huge congratulations on this achievement, very well done!

Thanks to the organisers, participants, and everyone supporting responsible disclosure. Onwards to more secure systems!
