Service learning is an educational proposal that combines learning and community service in one well articulated project. A methodology that, by joining service learning, transforms and adds value to both creating new and emerging positive effects during the process.
The two basic components, service to the community and the construction of knowledge, are not new, but the novelty is in the bond created between service and learning, creating a new entity of great educational effectiveness. Service Learning moves in four major areas:
• The supportive learning
• The pedagogy of experience
• The relationship of partnership
• Networking
