Future of television
In this workshop, experts invited by the Chair will discuss the future scenarios of television in a context strongly influenced by technology, new formats, and distribution mechanisms. Following the boom of the third golden age of television fiction and the rise of subscription models through streaming platforms, this workshop asks: where is the media ecosystem, particularly television, heading now? This panel brings together top-tier professionals and academics to explore what the near future might hold. It will address emerging topics such as the role of artificial intelligence (beyond generative AI) in television production and distribution, new formats and business models, and the major challenges faced today by the public and private television industry.
