Clara Virós, a newly enrolled PhD student, has recently joined our research group thanks to her successful acquisition of an FPI scholarship from the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation.

These scholarships, aimed at training PhD students, fund predoctoral contracts and are associated with R&D projects of the aforementioned Ministry. In Clara's case, the scholarship is linked to the project "Adolescents: Target Audience and Creators of Mental Health Content on Social Media (SMARS)," led by Dr. Jiménez and Dr. Montaña. Virós will carry on her thesis under their supervision, focusing on the impact of social media on adolescents' mental health.

Clara's academic background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising and Public Relations from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a Master's in Social Psychology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Before joining our team, she gained valuable experience as a social media analyst in a market research firm and as a research assistant at Universitat Pompeu Fabra's Department of Communication.

With a strong interest in understanding how media shapes the mental health perceptions and behaviours of young people, Clara's addition to our team enhances our ability to investigate the intricate relationship between social media and mental health among adolescents.
