Anna Saumell awarded with a predoctoral grant

In April 2023, Saumell was awarded a Joan Oró grant for the recruitment of pre-doctoral research staff in training (FI 2023) to work on her PhD thesis, which will be a neuropsychological analysis of the effects that screen time habits have on the users’ boredom proneness and tolerance. She will be working under the supervision of Emma Rodero as her thesis director.   

Anna Saumell is a PhD candidate in CAS research group. She has a master's degree in Social Communication Research and is an Audiovisual Communication graduate from Pompeu Fabra University.

Before joining Pompeu Fabra University’s Department of Communication as a PhD candidate, she used to work in the university’s library as Support Staff and Student Advisor.

She’s currently working simultaneously on her PhD and developing an educational videogame for a non-profit research organisation through her own independent video games studio, ANCLA Games. Her research interests include contemporary media effects on the human brain, videogame development techniques and educational innovations through interactive supports.
