Given the lack of a psychology department at UPF but the existence of a critical mass of researchers in the Social Sciences campus whose research is of psychological/behavioral nature, we created the BESS group as both a welcome addition to UPF and also necessary and instrumental in securing and expanding the intellectual synergy that already exists between these researchers. UPF’s founding focus was on acquiring “knowledge of the human being.” This knowledge is obviously incomplete without a formal consideration the social-psychological dimension.

The new BES_Lab (Behavioral and Experimental Sciences Lab) is a testament of the strong synergy existing between researchers from multiple disciplines that conduct behavioral research at UPF.

In order to maintain these synergies, we organize biweekly meetings, at the lab’s room 24.318. We talk about research, we share information and exchange ideas and doubts, in a relaxed and enriching atmosphere.
