Call for research projects in the field of Planetary Wellbeing

Launch of the 4th. research call

The fourth call for research projects in planetary wellbeing narrows the categories likely to be funded to two: (1) actions aimed at PhD students who wish to steer their research in the direction of planetary wellbeing and (2) seed fund projects that, through collaborative research, allow the researchers to seek external funds to conduct larger projects by submitting proposals to international competitive calls. The total budget is 95,000 euros. Applications must be submitted to the General Registry of the UPF, in person or electronically, until November 15, 2022, inclusive. You must use the forms published below.

Poster Competition on Planetary Wellbeing

Organization of the 1st Poster Competition on Planetary Wellbeing

The UPF Centre for Sustainability Research convened the 1st Academic Poster Competition on Planetary Wellbeing, targeting undergraduate, master’s or doctoral degree students from any university. The posters could reflect any idea, experience or work in any area of planetary wellbeing, especially those aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (UN).

The winners were announced during the 1st Seminar on Planetary Wellbeing, celebrated on June 2019, 5th: 1st prize (academic poster): “Terraforming Semiarid Ecosystems”, by Blai Vidiella (doctoral student on the Biomedicine programme); 2nd prize (poster): “Keep in Mind. It’s our Planet”, by Manuela García (second-year student of the bachelor’s degree in Global Studies); and 3rd prize (academic poster): “Archeology of ancient agricultural systems from Amazonia and its contribution to sustainable food production”, by Javier Ruiz-Perez (PhD student on the History programme).

Call for the best TFG and TFM projects on Planetary Wellbeing

In order to recognize bachelor’s and master’s degree final projects on studies in Planetary Wellbeing, the University has created these prizes, with each category endowed with 1,000 euros, co-funded by the UNESCO chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UPF and by the Barcelona School of Management-UPF.

Call for the award for the best Doctoral Thesis in Planetary Wellbeing

Theses must contribute: on the one hand, to the knowledge and understanding of the set of problems facing human, animal and planetary wellbeing, as a global ecosystem; and, on the other hand, to the identification of integrated, innovative and interdisciplinary solutions to these problems.
