Analysis in terms of performance of the TFG (2019)

05.12.2019

The USQUID at EITIC has carried out a study on the performance of the graduate class’ (year 2018-19) TFGs [undergraduate dissertations]. Here you can find the most relevant data. First, we present the global results. Second, we analyse the results specific to each undergraduate degree.

Regarding global data:

  • The average score was 8.57/10 (+0.77 points than in 2017-2018).
  • The mode was 8/10 and the deviation was 0.99 (0.30 points less than the one registered in 2017-2018).

Regarding data specific to each undergraduate degree, it can be observed that:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering:
    • This year’s minimum score has increased by 2 points, the best score achieved in the last years. The exact score was 7/10.
    • The mode value was 8/10.
    • The average score was 8.67 (the previous year was 7.87) and the deviation has decreased by 0.66 points to 0.87.
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Network Engineering:
    • The scoring range is 6-10 (the minimum score has increased by 1 point in comparison with 2017-2018).
    • The average score has decreased and now reaches 8/10 (last year it was 8.22/10). It has also been observed that there is a decrease in the deviation (–0.55 points).
  • Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering:
    • The average score has increased to 8.77/10, the highest score since the first edition of this study. It is worth noting that the deviation has dropped to 1.03 (last year’s value was 1.19). Therefore, the average score has increased and the results are, in general, more homogenous.
    • The minimum score has increased by 0.8 points, from 5.7 to 6.5 (in 2017 its value was 5/10).
    • The mode becomes one point higher at 9/10.
