Analysis in terms of performance of the TFG (data from 2017-2018 academic year)

01.02.2019

The USQUID at EITIC has carried out a study on the performance of graduate class’ (year 2017-18) TFGs [undergraduate dissertations]. Here you can find the most relevant data. First, we present the global results. Second, we analyse the results specific to each undergraduate degree.

Regarding global data:

  • The average score was 7.80/10.
  • The mode was 10/10 and the deviation was 1.29, that is, 0.3 below the previous graduate class.

Regarding data specific to each undergraduate degree, it can be observed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering:
    • This year’s minimum score has been 5/10.
    • The mode value was 9/10 (one point above last year’s, which was 8/10).
    • The average score has dropped from 8.24 (2016-17) to 7.87 (2017-18) and the deviation has increased by 0.27 points to 1.53.
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Network Engineering:
    • The scoring range is 5—10.
    • Compared to last year, the average score has increased by 0.4 points and has now reached 8.22/10. It has also been observed a slight increase in the deviation (+ 0.18 points), which this year has reached 1.54.
  • Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering:
    • The average score has slightly dropped to 8.15/10 (last year’s value was 8.21/10). However, it is worth noting that the deviation has dropped to 1.19 (last year’s value was 1.34). Therefore, although the average score has dropped, this year’s results are more homogeneous.
    • The minimum score has increased by 0.7 points, from 5.0 to 5.7.
    • The mode remains 9/10.
    • The deviation has dropped by 0.15 points (1.19) compared to last year’s.
