Tracking employability of TIC and GEBM graduates (2023)

16.04.2024

The Engineering School and ICT Department Innovation Area has once again conducted an analysis of the placement of our TIC and BIO graduates (2023 data). It is remarkable that these data are extracted from LinkedIn and only cases where the profile appears to be updated are considered for analysis.

This cohort comprised 184 graduates, of which 148 profiles were found on LinkedIn that appeared to be updated, meaning the study has been conducted on approximately 80.5% of the total graduates.

In general terms, it is worth highlighting that the overall employability rate (including all analysed degrees) exceeds 88.5% (+11% compared to the 2022 cohort), a figure that rises to 90.5% when considering only TIC degrees.

It is noteworthy that 28.38% of graduates (42) have chosen to continue their education, and of these, 82.6% are pursuing a master's degree.

The breakdown by degree is as follows:

  • The percentage of GEXT graduates who are currently employed at the time of analysis is close to 85%, and 30.77% have chosen to continue their education, mainly in cybersecurity and computing.
  • 91.89% of GEI graduates are currently employed, and 16.22% have pursued further education.
  • In the case of GESA, it is observed that, of the profiles analysed, 81.48% are currently employed; this percentage was almost 95% in 2022. Additionally, the percentage of graduates who have continued their studies has been almost 26% (compared to 10.5% in the previous cohort).
  • The employment rate of graduates in Mathematical Engineering in Data Science (GEMCD) is over 97%. Overall, 17.95% are both working and studying simultaneously.
  • Regarding graduates in Biomedical Engineering (GEBM), it is worth noting the 81.25% employment rate (compared to 44.7% in 2022). The percentage of graduates working and studying simultaneously is 37%.
