Back Analysis in terms of the performance of the TFG (2023)

Analysis in terms of the performance of the TFG (2023)

23.01.2024

The UCA EITIC Innovation Space has analyzed the performance of the Final Degree Projects (TFG) in July, 2023. Below are the most significant conclusions based on overall results and specific results for each TIC degree and the Biomedical Engineering Degree.

Starting with general data, the following observations can be made:

  • A total of 179 TFGs have been submitted.
  • The average score is 8.60/10 when considering works rated between 5 and 10.
  • The mode is 9/10, consistent with the previous promotion, and the standard deviation is 1.15.

Regarding specific data based on the degree, the following can be observed:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering (GEI)

  • 47 TFGs have been defended this year.
  • The minimum score remains at 4/10, and the maximum score remains at 10/10.
  • The mode has increased by 0.5 points compared to the previous promotion, now at 8/10.
  • The average score has increased from 8.07/10 to 8.67/10, making it the highest average among the four TIC degrees. The standard deviation reaches 1.16 points, and the data disparity is lower than in the previous promotion, where the standard deviation was 1.40 points.

Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Systems Engineering (GESA)

  • The number of TFGs that have been submitted this year is 39.
  • The lower limit of the score range increases by 2 points compared to the previous promotion, reaching a minimum score of 5/10.
  • The mode remains at 9, and the standard deviation decreases to 1.05 (– 0.31 points compared to the previous year).
  • The average score increases by 0.11 points, reaching 8.58 in the 2022-2023 academic year.

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Engineering in Data Science (GEMCD)

  • This year 44 TFGs have been submitted.
  • The average score increases to 8.60/10 (+ 0.13 points compared to the last promotion, corresponding to the 2021-2022 academic year).
  • The minimum score decreases by 0.5 points, resulting in a score range between 5.50 and 10.
  • The mode remains at a value of 9, and the standard deviation, which is 1.2, is 0.12 points higher than the previous academic year (2021-2022).

Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Network Engineering (GEXT)

  • 13 TFGs have been submitted this year.
  • The average score is 8.19 (+ 0.1 points compared to the 2021-2022 promotion).
  • The minimum score, for the first time, falls below 5 with a value of 4/10, and the maximum score is also 10/10 for the first time.
  • The mode obtains a value of 9.5, being the highest value in the history of this degree.
  • The standard deviation is 1.73, making GEXT the degree with the highest dispersion among the analyzed TIC degrees. It's worth noting that, excluding the TFGs with a score below 5/10, the deviation corresponds to 1.23.

Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering

  • In this promotion, a total of 36 TFGs were defended, 19 less than the previous promotion.
  • The average score is 8.44/10, and the score range is between 6 and 10.
  • The mode values are 8.9 and 9, and the standard deviation decreases to 0.94.
