1. What is this Guide used for?

This Guide has been elaborated with the aim of guiding and draw line son both the monitoring and the assessment (continuous and final) of the Bachelor's Final Project at ESUP. In addition, relevant information about qualifications, students' dedication hours and BFP basic parts, can be found on this Guide.

2. Where can I find the complete BFP Guide?

Apart from the Guide online version, there is a complete pdf version at the UPF e-Repositori.

3. Do students have access to it?

Of course! The Guide can be found, among other resources, at the USQUID Web, at the "Educational Resources" section. In addition, it is available at the BFP Aula Global, along with other information which is updated during the year (CRAI sessions Schedule, final report deadlines, etc.). Also, during those CRAI sessions, the Guide is explained with detail.

4. How can having this Guide help me with the assessment?

As a BFP tutor, it allows you to monitor the transversal and specific competences by using the form elaborated by USQUID-ESUP. Also, and for both the specific competences assessment and the BFP final assessment, the online application offers the final grade calculation. It is advisable that, during the BFP tutoring, the students know the assessment process, thus they will be able to improve those aspects needed, being aware of the progress and their own learning. 

5. And if I have difficulties with the formulation of the specific competences... what should I do?

On the pdf Guide's Annex 1 (complete version available at UPF e-repositori:http://repositori.upf.edu/handle/10230/20036) there is a series of examples to write the specific competences. In addition, the USQUID-ESUP is at your disposal, just send an email to:[email protected]

6. Does the form (online format) calculates which will be the final BFP qualification?

Yes, the application includes mathematical forms that allow you to obtain an approximation to the final BFP grade. Specifically, the process to do this calculation is based on the assessments percentage, depending on the three key criteria:

- Moment: continuous/final assessment

- Agent: assessment board/ tutor/a

- Competence type: specific or transversal

The qualification that the online version offers is in a qualitative format and, as it has been said, it is based on the percentage relation specified on the Guide. Find the final assessment determinants below:

The competences calculations are made independently, depending on their type, transversal or specific.

On each section (T or E), the status on the scale used (1-4) is taken into account, considering:

- If there is an item valued as "1", the final grade shows up as "INS", regardless of the rest of the grades.

- If there is an item valued as "2", 5.5 points are added to a total of grades.

- If there is an item valued as "3", 8 points are added to a total of grades.

- If there is an item valued as "4", 9.5 points are added to a total of grades.

At the end, the total value of the grades is taken into account and it is divided between the total number of grades accounted (considering that there may be cases where there are items that are not applicable and, therefore, have not been evaluated).

The figure calculated before is taken into account and the status is checked to assign a qualification, considering:

- From 5 to less than 6, the final grade is sufficient (expressed as SUF)

- From 6 to less than 7, the final grade is sufficient + (expressed as SUF+)

- From 7 to less than 8, the final grade is notable (expressed as NOT)

- From 8 to less than 9, the final grade is notable + (expressed as NOT+)

- From 9 to 10, the final grade is excellent (expressed as EXC)
