Neology Videos

In this section you'll find our videos on neology, which are meant to cover the tasks that the Observatori de Neologia carries out. In these videos you'll be able to see the different processes used in Catalan for the creation of new words.

After a brief introduction to Obneo as a research group, the videos are divided into 5 main topics: the concept of the neologism, the processes behind lexical innovation (with videos that cover derivation, composition, abbreviation, change and loanwords), correct words and their presence in the dictionary, our blogs and the Garbell project.

At the end of each video, there are a series of self-evaluated exercises to challenge yourself and check if you've learned it all. These exercises are also linked in this same page, under each title.
