Minor in Planetary Wellbeing
Description
The principal objective of this course is to expand knowledge and to understand the complex, interrelated and systemic problems threatening human and animal wellbeing as well as the wellbeing of the planet itself as a global ecosystem. It aims to identify integrated, innovative and interdisciplinary solutions to these problems.
The Planetary Wellbeing project was inspired by other international initiatives. One of these is the Planetary Health Alliance, in which IS Global (a UPF affiliated institute) actively participates. The project also supports the sustainable development objectives (SDOs), a United Nations initiative which aims to achieve global improvements in 17 different areas including: poverty, hunger, health, education, global warming, gender equality, water, sanitation, energy, urban planning, the environment and social justice.
Target
Students from UPF integrated centres and those holding UPF degrees registered on the Alumni programme.
Characterístics
To obtain the qualification, students must complete a minimum of 24 ECTS credits.
Students can not include subjects in the minor which are already part of their syllabus.
The Planetary Wellbeing Online Course must be completed. Attending the annual day conferences, organised by the Planetary Wellbeing Study Centre on this subject, is also highly recommended.
Of the total number of credits making up the minor, students can only complete a maximum of 10 credits as part of their official UPF academic transcript, either as voluntary cross-disciplinary training or as RAC credits, depending on the activity.
The timetables for subjects and the classrooms where classes are taught will be decided by the departments responsible for the corresponding training activity. The subjects will be taught in the language stated in the syllabus or the programme of the proposed activity.

To obtain the qualification you must have successfully completed:
The Planetary Wellbeing course at least one of the training activities from block b) at least one of the training activities from block c)
The rest of the credits making up the 24 total required can be from any of the blocks.
Any modifications to the syllabus that affect subjects included in the minor must be taken into account.
