Llibre d'estil de la UPF
Llibre d'estil de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (LEUPF)
What is it? What's in it?
Published on paper in 1996 and in electronic format in 2005, the Llibre d'estil de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (LEUPF) establishes the criteria and language conventions to be followed in the institutional and administrative documents of the University. The LEUPF consists of ten chapters, which deal with such diverse issues as aspects concerning the presentation of a text, egalitarian use of language from the point of view of gender, the criteria for the use of upper and lower case letters and for the translation of names and titles, among many others. At the same time, its two appendices offer a list of the most common abbreviations and a list of major universities around the world, with their corresponding translation into Catalan.
With regard to the 1996 printed version, in the electronic edition some contents have been amended and updated, the scope of the universities appendix (which only included Europe, the United States of America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) has been expanded to all five continents, and a search engine has been added, so as to make queries and the search for information much easier.
