The Moot Madrid covers the field of international arbitration, generally commercial, and takes place in Madrid, where the different faculties go through different rounds in large law firms, until reaching the final.

 

The tutors of the Moot Madrid are the professors of Commercial Law and lawyers from the Cuatrecasas firm: Carlos Vidal Riudor, Pol Solsona Vilarrasa, Alejandra Gallart López i Victor Escuder Ruiz-Cuevas.

 

3rd and 4th degree and master's students can register.

 

XVIII Edition Calendar (2025-2026)

  • October 17, 2025: Deadline for registration for the Moot Madrid.
  • November 5, 2025: Release of the practical case..
  • November 19, 2025: Deadline for teams to submit potential doubts or questions about the practical case..
  • January 12, 2026: Deadline for submitting the Claimant's Memorandum to the organization. Deadline for submitting the registration form and payment of the registration fee.
  • February 19, 2026: Deadline for submitting the Respondent's Memorandum to the organization.
  • April 20 to 24, 2026: Oral phase: general rounds, elimination rounds and final. Closing ceremony.
  • July 10, 2026: Deadline for registration for the Best Award (Laudo) Prize.
  • September 18, 2026: Deadline for submitting the Award (Laudo) to the organization.
 
VERY IMPORTANT
The Faculty will bear the costs of participation in the competition for the finally selected team members.

Participation in the Madrid Moot entails the validation of the Final Degree Project or the Final Project of the Master's Degree in Advocacy and Procurement at the UPF-BSM. Master's Degree in Advocacy and Procurement students can use the materials they have developed during the Moot for their final master's project and present their experience at the public defence of their work. The academic certification will include: the topic/title of the competition, the specification that the student has been selected by the MOOT Madrid and the grade given by the Moot tutor.
