A team from the Legal Clinic led by Dr. Karlos Artemio Castilla Juárez (professor at the UPF and head of research at the Human Rights Institute of Catalonia) and lawyer Montserrat Pérez Simeón have filed an appeal with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg in defence of an immigrant worker in a case of employment discrimination based on his status as a foreign immigrant in pharmaceutical laboratories.

The company is accused that particularly harsh working conditions (rotating shifts, night shifts, etc.) were reserved only for immigrant workers, while job promotions and salary improvements were concentrated on workers of Spanish origin.
