Citizens Advice

The Legal Clinic has a permanent advice service for vulnerable people and groups, without means, who have difficulties establishing their rights. A team of volunteers—led by UPF professors and volunteer lawyers—provides legal advice in response to requests for advice from individuals who have contacted the Legal Clinic directly (via email sent to [email protected]) or which have been referred by affiliated NGOs.

Representation of cases of particular social and academic interest

On receipt of a case of potential particular social and academic interest, the Director is the person entitled to decide whether it is accepted for representation (University Mentored Cases). If a case is accepted for representation the Legal Clinic will assign a lawyer to the case who will be responsible for providing pro bono (free of charge) legal representation.  The Legal Clinic will also establish an academic working group.  The academic working group will work with the assigned lawyer in order to ensure the best representation for the case.  The working group will be composed of a UPF law professor (with doctorate) and three final year law undergraduates.  The students will write their final thesis about the issues arising in the case.
