Julio C. Hernando Rodríguez obtained a PhD in Biomedicine (2020) in the area of occupational health from the Pompeu Fabra University, Spain. He also holds an MSc in Public Health and a BSc in Economics from the same university. He has completed a predoctoral stay at the Division of Insurance Medicine from the Karolinska Institutet, Sweden. He has combined teaching with scientific research in the field of Occupational Health.

He is currently a collaborating researcher at the Center for Research in Occupational Health (CiSAL). His research interests are social epidemiology, occupational health, and health and social inequalities.
