Degree and PhD in Medicine and Surgery (Universitat de València, 1990), Master in Public Health (Instituto Valenciano de Estudios en Salud Pública and Universitat de València, 1990) and Ph.D. by the University of London (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, 1997). She is currently Professor in the area of ​​Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Food Sciences, Toxicology and Legal Medicine of the Universitat de València. Researcher at the Center for Research in Occupational Health (CISAL) of the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona in Program 6 (Evaluation of Health Services) of the CIBER of Epidemiology and Public Health since 2008. She teaches in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate high schools in subjects related to her knowledge area. She was director of the Master in Occupational Health and Safety at the Universitat de València. She has participated in numerous courses and seminars organized by other institutions (Miguel Hernández University, Pompeu Fabra University, Autonomous University of Barcelona, ​​Alicante University or Huelva University, among others) also related to her field of expertise. She has teached in more than 40 editions of the seminars "How to write a scientific article", organized by the Dr. Antonio Esteve Foundation in collaboration with academic and professional institutions throughout Spain.

Her research has focused on the areas of public health, epidemiology, occupational health, and scientific publishing. Among her recent lines of research, the study of preventive interventions on work-related musculoskeletal disorders through participatory ergonomics programs stands out. She has been principal investigator or collaborator in nearly 50 competitive public projects. In relation to these projects and her professional activity, she has published numerous scientific articles in indexed journals (JCR) and in national and international peer-reviewed scientific journals, scientific books and reports, and papers and communications presented in national and international scientific meetings.

She has been associate editor of the journal Gaceta Sanitaria (2002-2006) and the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health (2007-2009), and director of the journal Archives of Prevention of Occupational Risks (2006-2015). She has been a member of the Spanish Society of Epidemiology (SEE) and the Spanish Society of Public Health and Health Administration (SESPAS) since 1992.

Between 2006 and 2011 she worked as a Research Technician at the Instituto Sindical de Trabajo, Ambiente y Salud (ISTAS). Between July 2015 and July 2019 she was General Director of Public Health at the Comunitat Valenciana regional government.
