Mireia Utzet has a degree in Sociology from the University of Barcelona, ​​has a master's degree in Statistics and Operational Research from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia and a PhD in Public Health from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has combined teaching with scientific research in several research groups in Public Health and Occupational Health. His main scientific contributions include publications in the field of working and employment conditions as social determinants of health inequalities.

She currently works as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Research in Occupational Health (CISAL). It has two main lines of research, the first focusing on the analysis of social inequalities in health, with special attention to the impact of working conditions and employment on the health of working people, according to gender and social class. The second in the study of the relationship between extreme temperatures, work and health.
