José Mª Ramada is a Doctor of Medicine, specialist in Occupational Medicine (Complutense University), Master in Occupational Health in the research pathway (Pompeu Fabra University) and Master in Occupational Risk Prevention (International University of Valencia).

He currently works at the MAR Health Park (PSMAR) as head of service of the Occupational Health Service since 2021, is a member and senior researcher of the Occupational Health Research Center (CiSAL-UPF), associate professor since 2011 of the department of medicine and life sciences at Pompeu Fabra University and head of the Multidisciplinary Occupational Health Teaching Unit of the MAR Health Park. He has decades of experience as a doctor specializing in occupational medicine in the prevention services of large companies and publicly owned hospitals.

He has specific training and experience in the identification and diagnosis of occupational diseases, interventions in the workplace and implementation of return to work programs after absence due to illness (RTW programs). His scientific activity is focused on various lines of research related to Occupational Health, specifically on occupational diseases, workplace interventions for the prevention of musculoskeletal pathology, assessment of the functional capacity to work, occupational risks in the health sector and methodology for the adaptation and validation of health questionnaires.

Actively participates as a clinician and researcher in the innovative project of the Occupational Pathology Clinical Unit of the PSMAR, created in 2010 with the aim of identifying, diagnosing and communicating occupational diseases treated in patients of the PSMAR. He is the principal investigator of the INTEVAL Plus project, which evaluates a multi-component intervention for the reduction of musculoskeletal injuries in the workplace. His experience also includes the design and validation of questionnaires (PRO instruments), as well as the methodology for the adaptation and validation of health questionnaires. Participates as a researcher in national and international competitive research projects.

Author of more than 40 articles published in journals indexed in Journal Citation Reports (JCR) and Scopus. According to the Scopus citation report, his publications have received a total of 508 citations and have obtained an H-index=9.
