Alberto López Yagüe is a Junior Researcher at the Research and Expertise Centre for Survey Methodology (RECSM), in the WEB DATA OPP project. He holds a Research Master’s in Political Science from the School of Research at Sciences Po Paris, a Master’s in Democracy and Governance from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) and a Bachelor’s in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the Alliance 4 Universities (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and Universitat Pompeu Fabra).
Prior to joining RECSM, Alberto worked as a Research Assistant in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at UAM, and in two Horizon Europe projects: the ActEU project at the Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE) at Sciences Po Paris, and the RECONNECT project at the Institute of Politics and Public Goods at the Spanish National Research Council (IPP-CSIC).
He has been the beneficiary of two competitive grants for postgraduate studies and research ("Becas Excelencia para la ampliación de estudios de posgrado en el extranjero" by Fundación Mutua Madrileña and "Ayuda al Fomento de la Investigación" by UAM), and a grant to participate in the EUI-SPS Summer Academy 2023 by the European University Institute (EUI).
Alberto’s main research interests lie within the field of comparative political economy, with a particular focus on the politics of inequality, political representation and behaviour, institutions, and the political economy of redistribution and taxation. His master's thesis at Sciences Po Paris examines the relationship between economic inequality, political inequality, and policy responsiveness, under the supervision of Prof. Bruno Palier (Sciences Po Paris) and Prof. Elvire Guillaud (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne).
