RECSM invited the public to a round table addressing: The Problem of Affective Polarization in Contemporary Democracies. The plenary roundtable was part of a 2-day series of workshops on Affective Polarization organized by RECSM's Director Mariano Torcal for global experts on the subject.

More specifically, experts came together to work on producing the first handbook on affective polarization. This handbook will provide an overview of the phenomenon of affective polarization, its theoretical implications , existing evidence of its presence indifferent democratic settings, its potential explanations, potential behavioural and attitudinal consequences, and possible avenues for interventions. It is expected to be published in late 2024.
