The International Conference on Communication and Applied Technologies (ICOMTA) will be held from 4 to 6 September 2024 in a mixed face-to-face and virtual format at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), Lima, Peru. The event will publish five books in some of the best indexed publishers in the world, such as Atlantis Press and Springer.

Between the Andes and the Pacific Ocean, emerging and crucial issues surrounding the field of communication and applied technologies will be discussed, as well as artificial intelligence, social networks, disinformation, automation, bots and algorithms, among others. All topics will be addressed by renowned scientists in the field.

Attendance at ICOMTA has doubled in just three years. In its first edition in 2021, in Bogotá, Colombia, some 200 authors attended, while in 2023, more than 400 authors gathered in Puebla, Mexico, at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, the previous year's venue.

ICOMTA 2024 is an event organised by the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC) and the Asociación Colombiana de Periodismo y Comunicación de la Ciencia, with the collaboration of the Universidad de Málaga, the Universidade de Vigo, the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela-Equipo de Investigaciones Políticas (Spain), the International Media Management Academic Association (IMMAA), the Red Internacional de Investigación de Gestión de la Comunicación (XESCOM) and WAPOR Latin America, among others.
