Laia Albó

Researcher on Learning Technologies

I am a researcher in the TIDE research group at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). My research interest lies in the use of learning design, educational technologies and intelligent systems to support learning and knowledge construction. I am passionate about supporting educators in designing for learning, co-designing educational technologies with multidisciplinary teams and researching on how to better develop and use human–AI systems for education. I have participated as a researcher in several European projects (e.g. BLENDI, Illumine) and one of the outputs of my doctoral thesis was the design and development of the tool edCrumble, a social lesson planning tool for educators which we hope to evolve during the RemixED project.

I teach first year, third year, and masters students at UPF's Department of Information and Communications Technologies. Both of my parents were longtime public school teachers in Canada which has shaped my interests in education and motivation to support teachers.
