Professor investigador Juan de la Cierva

Juan Carlos Triviño is Assistant Professor in Public Policy at the Department of Political and Social Sciences in the Universitat Pompeu Fabra-Barcelona. He is also a Juan de la Cierva research fellow at the same university (formerly at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals – IBEI).His field of expertise is primarily focused on governance processes from a multilevel and regulatory perspectives in multiple policy sectors but with a special focus on immigration and integration.

More substantively, he studies the urban governance of immigration and integration and the regulatory governance of policy sectors such as immigration, food safety, health, and finance.

He has published on matters related to his lines of interest in top-ranking journals such as Public Administration, Comparative European Politics, Journal of European Integration, the Lancet, American Behavioral Scientist, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, among others.

Since September 2022, he is the principal investigator of the project MUNMIGRA on local policy responses to presence of precarious migrants in Spanish cities. This project is funded through the Spanish Ministry of Science.
