VILLANUEVA BAXARIAS, MARIA INMACULADA
I hold a degree in Engineering Physics from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, as well as a Master's degree in Computational Biomedical Engineering from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Currently, I am a PhD student in the PhySense group at UPF.
My research integrates engineering and clinical approaches to develop in-silico lumped parameter models of the fetal cardiovascular system, based on biophysics and data obtained from fetal Doppler images. Focusing on fetal hemodynamics and oxygen transport, I aim to apply these models to the study and detection of cardiovascular abnormalities, especially congenital heart diseases.
