I work on applying advanced computer vision and artificial intelligence to medical image analysis, especially in retinal imaging. I hold a BSc in Biomedical Engineering (UPF, 2024), and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence for Biomedicine and Healthcare (University College London, 2025), fully supported by "la Caixa" Foundation Postgraduate Fellowship Abroad.
Between 2023 and 2024, I carried out internships at the Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience Group (Pr. Moreno-Bote, UPF) and the Pasqual Maragall Foundation (Dr. Domingo Gispert), working on the theoretical basis of neural networks and the study of brain aging and Alzheimer's disease. In London, I carried out my MSc dissertation on deep learning-based error detection in robotic surgery at Medtronic; and worked at the Great Ormond Street Hospital's innovation unit on AI model deployment.
My doctoral thesis focuses on the clinical workflow optimization of retinopathy of prematurity, a joint collaboration between BCN MedTech (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, UPF) and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. This work is supported by Fundación Ramón Areces' Doctoral Thesis Grant, and explores areas such as retinal vessel segmentation, disease grading, image mosaicking, quality control and prognostic evaluation.
