Albors Lucas, Carlos

Carlos is a nurse and biomedical engineer by profession, currently in his final PhD year at BCN-MedTech at Pompeu Fabra University. His research and interests focus on fluid simulations, particularly in cardiac pathologies, a field he began exploring during his undergraduate studies and deepened during his master's. He is now working on developing improved patient-specific computational models of the left atrium. The aim is to predict and simulate thrombus formation after left atrial appendage occlusion under various scenarios, as well as to generate a large virtual population of these fluid simulations to train surrogate models based on deep learning.
