OLIVARES MIYARES, ANDY LUIS
-BSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2003 from Universidad Oriente, Cuba. He received an MSc in Mechanical Design from Universidad Oriente, Cuba in 2007, with a new design of prosthesis for amputate. From 2003 until 2007, he teaches courses on Mechanics Theroy (Statics and Dynamics), Methodology of Research and Basic Computation.
-PhD in Materials Science from the Technical University of Catalonia, Spain (2007-2011). During his doctorate, he worked on evaluation of scaffolds for tissue engineering (TE) application (STEPS project).
In 2011-2015, he started working as Postdoctoral Researcher in the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia. working on project MECHANOBIO and THE GRAIL HEALTH projects. (based on experimental and simulation in atherosclerosis and cell seeding in scaffold)
-In 2015, he is incorporate to UPF, in Symbiosis team and work in Biodxa and Densy3D, projects related with the prediction of facture in femur.
-In 2016-actually, he works in Physense team in Compilaao and Virolaai projects between others. Left atrium simulations to predict the thrombus formation.
His main research interests are multi-scale in biomechanics problems with the application computational fluid dynamic, agent based and finite element methods. In addition is focus in the application the knowledge developed in academia in the field of biomedicine.
