My main areas of research are translation in the humanities and social sciences, modern and contemporary Chinese thought and intellectual history, and Chinese literature, using sociological and historical perspectives. My most recent research focuses on how works and concepts (from/into Chinese) circulate and how they are received and reappropriated by different linguistic and intellectual contexts.
