L’Àv-IA is a series of 6 workshops exploring the responsible use of AI in the Audiovisual sector organized by Som Audiovisual and Bitlab. It proposes a critical and practical journey through the applications of artificial intelligence in audiovisual creation and production, focusing on digital ethics, technological sovereignty, and cultural rights. The programme connects professionals from culture, research, and technology to address the social, environmental, and economic impacts of AI, and to explore responsible uses from the social and solidarity economy.
On February 5th, the session on Generative Audiovisual Production at Canòdrom Barcelona will feature the participation of MTG members Frederic Font and Xavier Serra.
Frederic Font will open the session with the talk “La intel·ligència artificial aplicada a les tecnologies del so i la música: perspectiva i futur” (Artificial intelligence applied to sound and music technologies: perspective and future). In this talk, he will offer an overview of the history of artificial intelligence applied to sound and music technologies, emphasizing recent developments in generative AI. This will help understanding the broader context in which technological changes are taking place, and think on how we can develop artificial intelligence that supports creativity and becomes a useful tool for artists, creators, and the music industry in general.
After the talk, Xavier Serra will participate in the discussion panel with the composer and artist Clara Aguilar on AI and music creativity, moderated by the journalist and researcher Karma Peiró.
