Would you like to debate the future of Europe with students from across the continent? Applications are now open for the EUTOPIA Summer School on European Identities, an international experience that will bring together 50 students from the EUTOPIA Alliance in Barcelona from 6 to 10 July 2026. There are 5 spots available for the 5 UPF students selected through this call for applications.

Organized within the framework of the EUTOPIA MORE project, this summer school will offer a week of lectures, debates, and participatory activities aimed at reflecting on the major political, social, and cultural challenges shaping Europe today.

What can you expect?

The Summer School will combine academic sessions with practical activities and discussion spaces designed to encourage the exchange of ideas among students from different countries and disciplines.

The programme will revolve around three main questions:

• How and why has European integration developed?
• What is the European Union and how does it function?
• What values and identities do European societies share today?

Based on these themes, participants will explore topics such as European democracy, governance, migration, citizenship, non-discrimination, and the role of regions and cities within the European project.

An experience beyond the classroom

In addition to lectures and academic sessions, participants will take part in a range of immersive and collaborative activities, including:

• An institutional visit to the Parliament of Catalonia
• A simulation of the European Parliament led by Equipo Europa
• Round tables with experts and members of the EUTOPIA community
• A debate session organized by the Ideas Club
• Cultural activities

This discussion space will allow students to share reflections on European identities, the role of European institutions, and global challenges from an international perspective.

Who can apply?

This call is open to any upper-level undergraduate student at UPF interested in European studies, politics, citizenship, and major global challenges.

Successful participation in the Summer School will be recognized with a EUTOPIA Micro-credential.
