Migrants’ Integration at Stake in Countries Around the Mediterranean
Author: Philippe Fargues

We are pleased to announce the publication of Working Paper No. 13 in the EuroMedMig Working Paper Series and the first of the new version of the series under the framework of the EuroMedMig Phd Network, authored by Philippe Fargues.

In this timely contribution, Fargues examines the evolving challenges of migrant integration across Mediterranean countries. The paper explores how shifting political climates, policy frameworks, and public discourses are reshaping integration models in both European and Southern Mediterranean contexts. It highlights how integration has increasingly become politicised, raising important questions about rights, belonging, and long-term social cohesion in the region.

This working paper provides a comparative and forward-looking perspective on integration policies and their implications for Mediterranean migration governance.
