The External Advisory Board (EAB) will:
- Guide EuroMedMig PhD Network’s partners throughout the overall shape of the network from an independent and rigorous perspective
- Facilitate the dissemination of policy and relevant research results
- Ensure that the training interests of young researchers are met
Gerasimos Tsourapas – University of Birmingham

Gerasimos Tsourapas is 125th Anniversary Chair and Professor of International Relations at the University of Birmingham, and 2025–26 Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute. He is Editor-in-Chief of Migration Studies (Oxford University Press) and leads the ERC-funded project Migration Diplomacy in World Politics (MOBSANCT), examining the intersections of human mobility and international politics. His research spans the international relations of the Middle East and the broader Global South, particularly the politics of migrants, refugees, and diasporas. He has advanced the concepts of migration diplomacy, migration interdependence, and refugee rentierism to theorise the political economy and foreign policy dimensions of cross-border mobility.
Lila Chabane – Research Center in Applied Economics for Development - CREAD, Algiers

Lila Chabane is a senior researcher and a research team leader on urban dynamics at the Research Center in Applied Economics for Developement, CREAD. Before joining CREAD she was a chief of organization and coordination office at Algerian transport ministry for seven years. In her research on urban dynamics, she focuses on city issues particularly on urban mobilities, public transportation economics, and governance of public services. Her findings try to analyze social and spatial inequalities in the supply of public services, mobility services accessibility, and services offer quality.
Makram Ouaiss – The Lebanese Center for Policy Studies

Makram Ouaiss is Executive Director of the Lebanese Center for Policy Studies (LCPS). Before joining the center, Ouaiss was a professor of political science and international affairs, with a specialization in conflict analysis and resolution, at the Lebanese American University for nearly 15 years. He is the author of a number of articles and studies on the topics of civil peace, elections, religion and politics, and democratization. He has served as Senior Advisor for Elections to the Minister of Interior, and worked or consulted for international organizations such as the United Nations Development Program, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, International IDEA, IFES, and the Carter Center, among others.
