Meet the Doctoral Candidates of the EuroMedMig PhD Network

The EuroMedMig PhD Network, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN) programme, is proud to introduce its first cohort of 11 doctoral candidates (ESRs).
These young scholars come from 9 different nationalities and bring a broad range of academic experiences and perspectives to the Network. They are hosted across the 10 partner universities and will carry out research on key aspects of migration in the Mediterranean, including:
-
Migration governance and comparative systems
-
Borders, mobility, and human rights
-
Informal labour markets and socioeconomic transformations
-
Civil society, resilience, and local governance
-
Diasporas, transnational practices, and digital imaginaries
By combining interdisciplinary approaches, international mobility, and strong connections with policy debates, this diverse group will contribute to shaping a new generation of migration scholarship in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Last week, we held our first online meeting with all doctoral candidates to officially launch the Network. They are expected to take up their positions around October, marking the formal start of their research journeys. We will be sharing more detailed information about their work and profiles very soon.
