From the Centre for Planetary Wellbeing Studies, we are especially pleased to support the initiative “For a Constitution of the Earth”, led by Medicus Mundi Mediterrània, which promotes Luigi Ferrajoli’s proposal for a Constitution of the Earth.

This foundational document proposes the creation of a global federation based on binding principles, through the establishment of global guarantees and protective institutions, such as:

• The prohibition of arms production to ensure peace.
• The creation of a planetary common heritage to protect nature’s vital goods.
• The establishment of global health and education services.
• A global fiscal system to finance a universal welfare state.
• A universal basic income.
• An international constitutional court to prevent arbitrariness by governments and major economic powers.
