Summary: Art and the broader humanities offer a distinct conceptual framework outside the confines of the techno-economic paradigm. It argues that scientists and organizations had warned about the recent pandemic's potential impact, but insufficient preparation occurred due to a lack of societal and political response. It is thought that art is now more effective than science in conveying and responding to emergencies, emphasizing the role of emotions and senses in understanding climate change. In this talk, Isabel and Santiago, will share with us their experiences bringing together several experts in the field that provided a unique theoretical and cultural perspective to inspire alternative transformative approaches to convey the climate emergency message.
