RABUFFO, GIOVANNI
I am a computational neuroscientist with a background in theoretical physics, broadly interested in the organizational principles of whole-brain dynamics and the neural substrates of Consciousness. My work combines cross-modal data analysis with large-scale brain modeling, approached through the lens of dynamical systems theory. I joined UPF with a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship (CAERUS project, GA No. 101199894) to explore novel background-dependent and circuit-level stimulation strategies aimed at reducing variability in stimulation responses. My goal is to leverage these insights to improve diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic interventions for Disorders of Consciousness. I am also interested in altered states of consciousness—how they reorganize whole-brain dynamics, transform subjective experience, and offer meaningful psychotherapeutic potential.
