GABA SAWICKA
Computational Neuroscience Group

I am a PhD student in the Computational Neuroscience (CNS) Group, working under the supervision of Prof. Gustavo Deco. In my research, I apply  thermodynamics-inspired frameworks to investigate brain dynamics in the psychedelic state.

My interest in studying the effects of psychoactive substances on the brain led me pursue a BSc in Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham, followed by an MSc in Experimental Pharmacology and Therapeutics at University College London. I then worked as a Research Assistant at the Centre for Psychedelic Research at Imperial College London, where I coordinated an fMRI-PET trial examining the effects of ketamine treatment on synaptogenesis. Prior to my PhD, I worked as a Program Manager at Cybin Inc., a pharmaceutical company developing psychedelic-based therapeutics for mental health conditions.
