5th Barcelona Summer School on Bilingualism and Multilingualism
Sept 12-15, 2017 - Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona
The aim of the BSBM is to bring together prominent experts who represent different disciplinary approaches and will discuss state-of-the-art research on the cognitive, linguistic and cultural aspects of bi- and multilingualism.
The school is intended for post-graduate students and researchers interested in an updated overview of the field in an international academic context.
Invited speakers
The school offers 4 modules presented by the following researchers:
Jubin Abutalebi (Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele, Milan)
Fred H. Genesee (Mc Gill University, Montreal)
Katherine Kinzler (Cornell University, Ithaca)
Guillaume Thierry (Bangor University, Bangor)
Each module will comprise 4 contact hours for a total of 16 hours for the whole summer school, which will run for 4 days (from Tuesday the 12nd through Friday the 15th). Each day participants will have modules in the morning, plus one afternoon session on Tuesday, from 15:00 to 19:00. In addition to this, on Wednesday and Friday there will be a Researchers' workshop where participants will be able to provide oral presentations on their research.
Researchers' workshop
The workshop will be directed by Albert Costa (UPF), Marco Calabria (UPF) i Cristina Baus (UPF). Contributions to the researchers' workshop by course attendants are most welcome. Each contribution should use 15-20 minutes to present pre- or post-doctoral research either 'work in progress' or finished projects.
